A shoe factory in the North of France is shut down — the workers strike and protest, but all machines have already been dispatched to the new site in Tunisia. Not much is left for Hervé (Philippe Rebbot) to do other than trying his luck in fishing while teaching his good-for-nothing son a bit of business sense. On the other side in the industrial suburbs of Tunis, Fouad (Mohamed Amine Hamzaoui) now works at the punching machine in order to get his mother her much-needed medication and to impress his beautiful colleague Karima. With a grim sense of humor, Walid Mattar tracks down the movement of capital and people across the North-South axis between France and Tunisia in his feature film debut.
